5 Tips for Ear Piercing Aftercare in Little Ones

Tiny ears adorned with sparkling studs – it's a precious sight! But keeping those sparkly friends happy needs some TLC. Here's a quick guide to caring for your little one's newly pierced ears:

  1. Apply saline solution on a cotton ball or Q-tip gently twice a day for the first 3 weeks . While cleansing, gently rotate the earrings. Remember, clean hands are key! Don’t remove the earrings while cleansing

  2.  No alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or antibacterial soaps! These can sting and irritate the healing skin. Stick to gentle cleansers and let nature do its magic.

  3. Resist the urge to change the earrings for at least 6-8 weeks. Let the initial healing happen with the original studs in place.

  4. Be kind to those lobes! Avoid pulling on the earrings, brushing hair too close, or using headphones that put pressure on the piercings. Sleeping positions also matter – a soft sleep mask can be a savior.

  5. Keep an eye out for redness, swelling, or pus (yuck!). These could be signs of infection. Don't hesitate to consult your doctor or piercer if you have any concerns.

Bonus Tip: Make bath time and dressing-up a fun bonding experience! Let your little one choose earrings they love (within safe limits) to keep them excited about their sparkly new look.

Don’t go overnight without earrings for at least 6 months

Remember, with a little love and care, your little one's ears will be twinkling happily with their new adornments in no time!
